Polish Fest
The Polish Festival has become not just a Sacred Heart function but a tradition for the whole city of LaPorte. Each year, we hold the “biggest block party in town” for the thousands of our neighbors who come to spend an hour or a day with us.
Planning for the festival is a year round process and any member of the Church is welcome to attend the Festival Committee meetings to give their input and guide our efforts to ever improve the festival.
The Two weeks before the festival and the week after are the busiest times as booths are set up, prizes are readied, food is prepared and many other task are accomplished. Some of the work requires specific competencies such as electrical and carpentry. Much simply calls for a willing spirit.
There are at least 30 chairmen needed each year; they cover the dinners, booths, various concessions and behind the scenes people.
Dedicated people volunteer each and every year, Come on over and volunteer an hour or two; it would greatly help. Chairman may not know you, so if there is a particular are where you feel you could be of help, call the volunteer coordinator. We need you!
