Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist
More commonly known as Eucharistic Ministers, lay ministers distribute the Eucharist at weekend Eucharist liturgies and/or at local nursing homes. Those interested are invited to attend an instructional meeting; this group of lay ministers is commissioned at a ceremony at Sacred Heart Church with a commitment renewed every year. Requirements include: has been baptized, received the Eucharist, been confirmed, and if married, must be a Church recognized marriage.
Bringing Christ to the gathered Church at Mass is a deeply spiritual experience that brings growth in the ministers own faith in the Eucharist
