Youth Ministry
Sacred Heart seeks to minister with our youth by incorporating them as fully as possible into the life of the parish. Thus, young people are invited not just to be altar servers, but Lectors, Ushers, members of the Music Ministry, Eucharistic Ministers, Pastoral Council members and active on other Commissions/committees and more as the young person is capable to serve. Additionally, youth targeted activities and groups exist to serve the youth. Some are based at Sacred Heart and some as shared ministries with the other two Catholic parishes in town.
Sacred Heart Youth Room: Located in the Servers Sacristy of the old Church, this space was renovated and decorated by a group of youth to serve as a youth room for our parish. It has colorfully painted walls, thick carpet, TV/DVD and a sound system. It makes a great small group gathering space for youth meetings.

Teens for Christ, Middle School
The Teens for Christ Youth Group is open to all Catholic Middle School students of Greater LaPorte Community. They meet at one of the three local parishes every Thursday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
There is usually a main theme speaker as well as an activity such as basketball or other games.
Tri-
This group is open to all Catholic high School students of the Greater LaPorte community. They meet on Wednesdays from 7 to 9 p.m. with a meeting location and topics posted weekly in the bulletin.
If you are interested in being an adult youth leader at Sacred Heart, please contact Father Ian at pastor@sacredheartlp.org He would love to start our own High School retreat program and other activities but is in need of committed adult leaders.
